Life

Life is not the amount of hours awake,

it’s about the dreams we have.

Living a life full of happiness, love and

peace is the aim.

Keep striving forward, reaching for the stars,

never giving up.

Let no day go by without a fuel of passion,

let your mind soar in the blue sky.

No matter how hard it is, forgive and forget,

move on, and raise your spirits.

Believe because it’s your inspiration, so do it

and keep on going.

Be wise and make the right decisions,

don’t regret the path you took.

Fun is with what you make it so live on laugh,

smile because you are part of this adventure.

Exclusive Interview with Maathurya

Recently, I got caught up with my best friend Maathurya and got a chance to interview about her blog: http://www.deliciouslychocolate.wordpress.com. I am glad to say she is a fellow searcher in life. This is what she has to say about life!

Adshayah:  What is your definition of wise?
Maathurya: In my opinion, one who is wise thinks his/her actions through before putting them to action. They will make good choices, and keep righteousness alive in every step of the way. If they feel as though something is wrong, they will work there way to remind others of righteousness. Every living thing is a spark of god, so we all have godly qualities. So this makes us, all in a way, wise.

AdshayahYou have a blog about wisdom! Why did you create it? What topics do you write about?
Maathurya: I created a blog about wisdom with a thought in mind: If everyone knew the righteous path, the world will become a better place! Few will be cruel to others, and more will have complete faith in themselves and the Supreme Truth. I write about the Supreme Truth and His spiritual teachings because when you learn about them, you take the teachings and put them to good use. This leads to you becoming a better person.

Adshayah: How do you get ideas for your topics?
As you can see so far, I am an EXTREMELY religious person. All my ideas come from Hindu scriptures like the Mahabharat, Ramayana, Bhagavad Gita, and so on. My ideas derive from sayings of God that are beautiful and meaningful(all of them are). More recently, Sri Isopanisad (a book) has been an inspiration of my posts.

Adshayah: I see! What is your favorite quote? Why?
Maathurya:
“He alone who truly sees the Lord the same in every creature…seeing the same Lord everywhere, he does not harm himself or others.” was said by Lord Krishna in the Bhagavad Gita.
It is my favorite quote because we tend to go looking for the Lord in his ultimate form, but we don’t realize that he is in every living being. We abuse others with our words and actions, therefore harming the Lord. How can the Lord give you happiness when can’t respect his minor form. His minor form is all of us.

Adshayah: That is so true! Can you name your biggest finding about life?
Maathurya: My biggest finding about life is that no ones fate is a one that is easy to live through. We are here, in this birth, because we have done something wrong in our previous birth. But that doesn’t mean you should think about it too much. The Lord said,” Live in the present. Why! There is no point in thinking of the future because it’s already written out.”

Adshayah: Do you have any questions for me related to wisdom?
Maathurya: What qualities should a person have to truly be a devotee? What are your favorite books/scriptures on philosophy? What is not the purpose of life?

The Story of Adam and Eve: Retold by Adshayah S.

Once, god made a beautiful garden called the Garden of Eden. Birds sang in the trees, animals lived there, and streams flowed through this garden. Fruits and trees grew there too. In the centre of garden, there was a tree called the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. The tree had the special power to give the knowledge of good and evil to anyone who ate it’s fruit.

Adam was the first man made by God.  God told Adam to look after the trees in the garden and warned him, “You may eat fruits from any tree you like, but not from the Tree of Knowledge. If you do not obey, you shall die:” God did not mean that they will drop dead, their spirit would die. God felt sorry for Adam so that night, he took a rib from Adam and made a woman.

In the same garden, there lived a serpent. He advised Eve to eat the fruit from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, and told her that if she ate the fruit, she would become wise like God. Tempted by this, Eve ate the fruit and made Adam also eat it.

The next day, when God came to the Garden of Eden, Adam and Eve hid themselves from Him, as now they had gained knowledge and felt guilty of what they did. God asked them, “Did you eat the fruit from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil?” He had told them not to touch it, and they blamed each other for their sins.

God was sad that Adam and Eve had disobeyed them.  He told them that they had to leave the Garden of Eden, “From now on you’ll have to scratch a living from the soil.  You’ll need to make clothes and grow food.  Nothing will come easily — not even childbirth.  And one day, you will die.”

Leave the past behind

Everyday is a fresh, new beginning. Like my best friend Maathurya says,” Everyday is a second chance.” Bad things happen and people make mistakes but we have to learn to forget about the past and focus on the good. Leaving the past behind reduces stress and being emotionally down. It’s a great way to avoid unnecessary arguments and physically hurting someone. When I say leave the past behind, I don’t mean forget about all the good memories and those moments that you treasure, I mean forget about the bad things that happened in your past. “What doesn’t kill you makes me stronger,” they say. This is an awesome quote. There are going to be times when you fall down, but you have to stand right back up. People change. I have changed, and you probably have too in the last couple of years, but do what’s right. Otherwise, in the end, everyone’s going to be hurt including you, so leave the past behind. Focus on the future instead.

Google Doodle: Nelson Mandela’s 96th Birthday

Today’s Google Doodle is celebrating Nelson Mandela’s 96th Birthday. He passed away at age 95 last December. The president of South Africa left behind his legacy and showed us how leaders should lead their countries. He showed us that we have to unite rather than divide, this principle should be applied by every political leader. Freedom, peace and equality is important in our society, He has taught me a lot of valuable things. Nothing is impossible to achieve, the people who believe change is possible are the ones who create a big change. He inspires me greatly and his legacy will live on. I  hope that everyone will remember the big impact he was. Watch the video below to see some of Nelson Mandela’s pearls of wisdom.

The World of Imagination

Imagination is one of the things that’s built into you when you are born. It is like an emotions and it stirs your creativity. It’s something you can’t see/touch, it’s abstract. Everything new, every invention, every idea, every improvement in our life was inspired when someone used their imagination! Imagination is the ability of the human mind to dream & hallucinate things into the future! Our imagination lets us see into other universes; talk with fantastical beings; be observed and analyzed by aliens; peek into the future; and create strange and wonderful worlds. Your imagination is important because it opens the world to new ideas and allows people to act on what they come up with. Our imagination allows us to escape of reality into a world where there aren’t rules & it’s fun! You can’t do anything without first imagining it. Imagination is a very important part of us so ALWAYS IMAGINE. Daydream. It’s what makes us who we are.

Believe today and now!

BELIEVE IN YOURSELF! It’s the only way to get anything done, your life relies on belief. You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem and smarter than you think. Life’s one mystery is how to get anything done. You have to believe in yourself. We all have dreams, goals and wishes. In order to achieve them, we need to take action, take the steps. Set smaller tasks and dreams to get it all done. Dream for you, dream for the world. Learn to love and learn to laugh, learn to live! Believe in yourself! We live in a world where the majority of people don’t believe, they don’t dream and don’t take the action to do so. Believing in yourself is as easy as breathing. You just have to believe. It’s very easy and most likely you will end up being happy so believe in yourself. BELIEVE TODAY AND NOW!

Wishes: They really do happen!

Wishes are such amazing things. Some people have wishes, some people don’t but don’t we all have to take a break from reality and just wish for something amazing to happen? Everything that comes in a big box of wishes is magical. All you have to do is believe. Sometimes, it won’t happen, the way you want, but I promise in the end, there will be satisfaction. Wish upon a star, when it’s shining bright. See what happens, wait and be patient. One day, it will happen…like a miracle! Your wish could be something only you understand. Your wish could be funny or just downright creepy. It’s all up to you….but be positive.

Everyone has a wish at one point in their life. It gives you something to keep you occupied and think. If you believe in magic, then life will be swell for you. Because the whisper of magic is always nearby. It’s not always witches and ghosts….it’s the day spring blooms or the way discovery came to be. Wishes inspire you to be a better person and not live sadly…learn from your mistakes and remember your wish will come true!!! Make a difference with your wish….light it tonight.

Creativity Lies Within You: Part 2

Creativity is something everyone is blessed with as I said before. When you allow your creativity to wander, don’t worry about the money because that comes as a result. You will truly live life when you are doing what you like to do, what excites and challenges your mind each and every day. That is what allows you to inspire those around you and have them work hard for you each and every day, because they love your creativity and you let them feed off of theirs. Without creativity there would be no inventions. We would continue to be cavemen. They say some of the most creative people work for Apple and that they regularly set time aside from each day to brainstorm and let their minds take them somewhere that they didn’t think existed.

Creativity is a seed that was planted deep inside your roots. It’s a blessing.  Creativity is found in any industry, so go out there and don’t be afraid to show it to the world. The saddest thing in the world is a wasted talent. Don’t be just that. Live up to your potential.
